Ilaria Hoppe has headed the Institute for Contemporary Arts and Media at the Catholic Private University Linz since 2016. There she teaches art and visual culture from the early modern period to the present. Previously, she worked at the Humboldt University in Berlin with a regular teaching schedule for the Gender Studies program. There in 2007 she also started her research on graffiti and street art. She completed her studies in art history, Italian literature, and philosophy in Düsseldorf and at the TU Berlin. Her research interests include urban art, gender studies, and early modern art and culture with a focus on Italy.
